Hello, On the Dutch wikipedia, I wrote an article about the Katorga Sachalin. I didn't know how to connect it to the russian version on the left, "jeziki". Does anybody know how to do it?

And another question: can anybody tell me (in english or german) what happened to this katorga during the Japanese occupation in 1905; and if this katorga was still operational in the Stalin period (I cannot read Russian).

@Koos van den beukel what happened to this katorga during the Japanese occupation in 1905. See [2]. Japanese soldiers have killed most of prisoners on Southern Sachalin. As for Northern Sachalin, which remained under Russian administration, part of prisoners have been killed (by Japanese), part of them run away. Katorga hasn't been restored because of Japanese neighborhood. At Soviet time there were some Gulag camps. PS.
