СОЕДИНИТЕЛЬНАЯ ТКАНЬ, одна из основных тканей сложного животного организма. Служит для соединения прочих тканей в обособленные органы и органов в целый организм; иначе говоря, из неё образуется скелет отдельных органов (оболочки, строма), скелет всего тела (кости, хрящи), а также соединение различных частей тела (сухожилия, связки, подкожная и межмышечная клетчатка). Пронизывая всё тело, С. т. заключает в себе все кровеносные и лимфатические сосуды и нервные стволы, сопровождая их вплоть до конечных разветвлений. Поэтому, помимо механической, опорной функции, С. т. выполняет и функцию посредника между кровью и клеточными элемен — Рис. 1а. Волоктами, принимая участие в про — Жатого червя Ь~ межуточном обмене, т. е. выполняет трофическую функцию. В гистологич. отношении С. т. характеризуется большим количеством межклеточного, промежуточного вещества, в сравнении с к-рым клетки отступают на второй план (за немногими исключениями). Межклеточное вещество состоит из аморфной основной массы слизисто-белкового характера, в к-рую погружены волокна, сообщающие С. т. её механич. свойства. Волокна С. т. разделяются на несколько видов, клеточные элементы также различны; смотря по характеру и количеству тех и других различают отдельные виды С. т.
Волокна С. т. бывают 3 видов: 1) клейд ающие, 2) эластические и 3) ретикулиновые.
